Resolved: re newbie on EDS, form shows empty select list

Thanks to Alex, and many, extra thanks to Rod, for advice and guidance on EDS. I think my main problem was that I misread the information about the MetadataProvider tag, and mistaken removed reference to my IdP. Once I blended in my IdP with the discovery attributes, it worked!

Happy St Patrick’s, and happy Purim today, for anyone applicable (some similarities in the celebrations!).

It is.

The Discovery protocol is SP->DS->SP->IdP.  The DS is told where (on the SP) to send the browser to as a parameter.  So the return string is a test against the SP’s URL – the DS only knows about IdPs as abstract objects (it knows nothing of protocols and end points).

In general (Shibboleth) SP end points have Shibboleth.sso in them and (Shibboleth) idp endpoints have ‘idp’ in them
