It *is* in the branch in 3.3, so again, that would be a corrupt package. We need to see what's actually been released and do a 3.3.4 if needed.

That is in fact true, the update process is only safe if it runs as it is, and any other diffs are going to be situational as to how safe they are because it would depend on local changes and what else has been done. But there's still something off if anything like this got into the branch.
