There's only one 32-bit or 64-bit installer, on the download site.

It asks, so I have no answer for you. It won't do anything to IIS unless 
the IIS6 compatibility piece is installed first. To get the error you got, 
it already had to have done at least a stab at configuring itself into 
IIS, so that is not the problem. It's running the extension. But the IIS 
site it's running in does not match what you told the SP about in the file.
