Well, so what are you going to do about it?  You (Keith) are probably
one of the few people on this list who actually could sway some people
in their organization.  I'm not trying to pick on you but a general
"yeah, something should be done *hand wave* *hand wave*" doesn't
actually get anything done.

To be a bit of a downer, I would say that if people looked at the past
funding of open source projects within I2, it's not a great track
record.  And, if CIFER is really going to deliver all that it claims
it's going to be a project larger than all the existing and past
projects combined.  So, long term (10-15 year) funding streams is
definitely something that group should worry about.  That's not really
a topic for this list, but just an observation since it was brought up
here.
