It’s been a while since I looked at it. It was partly that but I think more to do with the fact that I couldn’t “just” wire up a set of existing actions to produce the output, so it would be writing new code to try and match what it does elsewhere, and that isn’t really helpful.

Some of that probably had to do with the back-channel, but I think what’s needed is a factoring out of some of the code to produce intermediate results so that the response generation step is layered on that, allowing this flow to reuse the code.
