Note: The IdP update skipped the plugin updates after a while, but left the OIDC plugin in an unusable state. Manually updating the OIDC plugin right after the IdP update did not work as expected (the jar files somehow did not match the configuration files).

So I went back to my backup copy of the old /opt/shibboleth-idp folder, uninstalled the OIDC plugins manually (using ./bin/plugin.sh with HttpClient bean file), then updated the IdP and re-installed the OIDC plugins manually (using ./bin/plugin.sh with HttpClient bean file). After that I had to manually configure the OIDC plugin again.
