Not that I'm aware of.  I'm also assuming that

	- There are not messages in the log about the loading of the metadata
	- That the metadata itself is schema conformant

(these both seem likely given the change in semantics for pure text content).

At this stage I'd suggest that you reduce the metadata down to the smallest possible that exhibits both errors and put in a JIRA case.
