IdP 5 - login page not displaying service name if no mdui:DisplayName present in metadata.

Hi Rod,

We use exactly the same code on idp4 (where it works and grabs the entityID if no DisplayName) and idp5 .

I've also come across another anomaly with DisplayName

If I have this in the metadata

   <md:Extensions>
            <mdui:UIInfo xmlns:mdui="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:metadata:ui">
                <mdui:DisplayName xml:lang="en" xmlns:xml="http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace">casims</mdui:DisplayName>
            </mdui:UIInfo>
        </md:Extensions>

nothing is displayed in the login GUI.

casims is our Course and Subject Information Management System

If I replace casims with

  *
Casims
  *
casims prod
  *
X
  *
12345
  *
casimsprod
  *
x
  *
casimss

I get this DisplayName displayed on the login gui.
As soon as I re-enter the text casims nothing is displayed. No copy and paste, it's retyped and the metadata reloaded.

Is casims a reserved word?

I'm guessing that this is your problem

(because servicename *is* the relying party id)
