New Attribute Defined - Restart Required?

We defined a new attribute for eduPersonEntitlement which uses SCRIPT - reloaded attribute filter and resolver but the value I'm looking for is not there. On the development server a restart of the IDP fixes it. Do all new attribute definitions require a restart? Is Shibboleth caching values?
