Shibboleth IDP Upgrade from V4.0.1 to V4.1.4 (Windows)

The XML that I had to convert from the old wik by hand is not 100% right, which I will have to fix. It will take some time but I can start with that page. The error is that it's claiming to require certain properties because they're not defaulting into the XML if they're not.

The upgrade is "safe", and you don't have to go mucking around with general-authn.xml, but if you *do* want to start converting syntax and changing how things work, then you very much *don't* usually want to start putting those flow XML beans into that file. The whole point is to get rid of the file so it can be property-based instead of XML-driven.

For now I would be less aggressive with it and just make sure your upgrade didn't break anything and not worry about changing all of it.

Subsequently you can look at the upgrading material and the link in there to the HowTo example I did that references how to convert old to new, but you really shouldn't have to be recreating those flow beans.

But I will get the XML fixed in those Flow Descriptor tabs in the Reference sections today.
