Did you see the additional info I added in a response yesterday? I installed Amazon Corretto 11, and yes, this is on a 64 bit machine where nearly everything else is running 64 bit (looking in Task Manager).
Question on that PreReq in the wiki install notes -- it says
"You should install and download the "Visual C++ redistributable packages for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019". At the time of writing this is available from this link <https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads>. You need the file vc_redist.x64.exe (or vc_redist.x86.exe for a 32 bit install)."
Which sounds "odd", because one would think that would be "download and install" versus what it says. One doesn't actually need to then actually run that executable, does one? I was taking it to mean that executable needed to be present, not that it needed to be run to make some underlying changes to the system.
And, at this point, I have to ask -- why is 32bit even a thing still now on Windows?
