Capture IdP hostname and user IP in velocity templates

Greetings,

We're running multiple Shib IdP v4.0.1, jetty-9.4.32, openjdk11, on
ubuntu 20.04 behind load balancers.  

I'd like to store in variables the local hostname of the IdP server as
well as the user's IP in $idp_home/views/login.vm.  Has anyone done
this before?  I'd appreciate the guidance, not sure how to do this.
