Embedded Discovery Service - redirecting to secured location?

Greetings all -
I'm very new to Shibboleth, so I apologize in advance if my terminology is
a bit off.

I've been working on configuring the Shibboleth Embedded Discovery Service
for use on one of our websites. It works fine when I browse out to the
secured directory (ie, https://mysite.org/secure )

However, I need to set this up in such a way that visitors to our site land
at the discovery service *first,* and once authenticated, get redirected to
the secured location. So, basically the flow would be like:
- https://mysite.org/login
- Authenticate
- https://mysite.org/secure

In the idpselect_config.js for https://mysite.org/login , I
have defaultReturn = " https://mysite.org/secure"
When setup this way, it immediate redirects back to
https://mysite.org/login, which at that point, I successfully login and get
directed to  https://mysite.org/secure

Any thoughts on how I can accomplish what I'm looking for?
