Yes, it works fine as long as all the directives are loaded properly. Your
second suggestion would be a cleaner approach. Mine was just the easy fix
since all the starter configuration is already in one file in the
Shibboleth distribution. At least as far as I can remember -- the test box
is long dead now -- the rebuilt RPM couldn't locate a place to
automatically place a shib.conf.
I really just wish Linux distributions weren't so creative about
redistributing HTTPD.
