I mostly meant that in the sense of notifying others here that the
issue is known to exist in Ubuntu 18.04 (and what's involved) but
re-reading my comment it's clear this could have been understood as
endorsing that specific hack.

Thanks for pointing out the dangers of that specific recipe.
