nameid-format:unspecified for relying party

I got back into one of our ArcGIS SPs, and no, there is no field to set the NameID Format. It does not care, does not check, it takes whatever its given and just uses the value. Dumb as a rock, nothing special.

I also should say that I haven't gotten encryption turned on, and I haven't tested it for comment injection bugs. It's been on my list to get around to. It claims to allow encryption but the metadata is spits out has no key, so I don't know if it starts spitting one out if you check the encrypt assertions box or what. I suppose it must.
