This may be of interest to SAML deployers that rely on metadata aggregates:
Today the InCommon metadata aggregate exceeded 50MB for the first time:
$ echo $md_location_incommon
http://md.incommon.org/InCommon/InCommon-metadata.xml
$ $BIN_DIR/md_refresh.bash $md_location_incommon | $BIN_DIR/md_printf.bash
Metadata file size : 50013318 bytes
Document ID : INC20180212T194715
Document publisher : https://incommon.org
Document creationInstant : 2018-02-12T19:47:15Z
Document validUntil : 2018-02-26T19:47:15Z
Entities summary---
8146 entities total, spread over 49 registrars
5487 entities with at least one SPSSODescriptor
2662 entities with at least one IDPSSODescriptor
1570 entities with at least one AttributeAuthorityDescriptor
AFAIK, the InCommon aggregate is the largest SAML metadata aggregate
in the world. It contains more SP metadata than all other federations
combined.
Of course 50M is an arbitrary number but this is a good time (as any)
to acknowledge the ever-increasing size of metadata aggregates.
