    If that's all true, you're not using the configuration you think you are, but that aside, just put both Hosts into the single map, which I imagine you already did as a workaround.

The point of my original question was trying to convince the SP to use the external file. I’m well aware that it’s obviously not looking at that external file if introducing a syntax error to that file doesn’t create problems. I haven’t installed the SP to our production servers yet so I’ve not tried putting both production and dev hosts into a single ISAPI block. Can I presume I just need to add aliases to the appropriate Site ID block?  Will the site name matter?
