Windows SP 2.6.0

But...y'know, I used to testing not *that* long ago on my laptops and I never experienced that magnitude of slowness. And that's on DEBUG. But it sure wasn't an 8 CPU laptop.

So I have to say I'm skeptical that something isn't going on with this. I'm on a Mac at the moment but I have my Windows notebook here, I'll get over to it later and see what it's doing these days loading the metadata.

Is there any possibility you have something really weird here, like the signature logging categories turned up to DEBUG? Can't imagine why but...

I don't have enough "real" SPs around anymore to really benchmark much of anything, and my Windows access borders on non-existent at any scale needed to measure this kind of thing. I would be fairly shocked at that kind of performance on a box like that, but shocked doesn't mean I have any reason to dispute it if others are seeing similar.

If not, I can't imagine what would be interfering with it, it seems bottlenecked where I'd expect.

Best bet is just to flip the setting to avoid verifying the backup file I suspect. It's still going to churn hard every day reloading it, but that should at least be a background thread.
