question about linux shib packages and apr and apxs

When I used to compile shibboleth on Solaris, my configure script would have

    --with-apxs22=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs \
    --with-apr1=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apr-1-config \
    --with-apu1=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apu-1-config

Now that I'm using a package on linux I just did a "yum install
shibboleth.x86_64" without issue. I am fairly new to linux and didn't even
know if and where those files were. I know whoever replies didn't create
the packages but how can I tell apxs or apr were found during the install or
if shibd knows where to find it please?

Thanks

# /sbin/shibd -v
shibboleth 2.6.0

# more /etc/yum.repos.d/shibboleth.repo
