Split displayName to givenName and cn

Dear all

I have a SP which receives only the following attributes
Mail
DisplayName
EPPN

But my application needs two more values
givenName
cn

The idp do not have the values for givenName and cn only for one domain users. So we have difficulties in authenticating them. Is there anyway to split displayName to givenName and cn at SP end. If this is not possible, can this be done at the idp end. If so what are the settings and which file needs to be updated.
