Note that the Shibboleth SP has to "see" the request, so passive or
active protection need to be enabled for the resource where your code
is running.
And that's assuming your application is running on the same web server
the Shib SP runs in. If you're also proxying/tunneling more specifics
need to be taken into account.

So it all depends on the technical details you've left out.
