Surpressing SPnamequalifier from an IdP response

Hi all

I have been asked the following:

Dave, I have a quick questions, by any chances is there any way that you can take out these elements out of the NameID element: NameQualifier="https://shibbtest.srv.hull-college.ac.uk/idp/shibboleth" SPNameQualifier="google.com/a/hull-college.ac.uk"> and try if the authentications goes through?

Is this possible?
