I think it depends on the provider. Default is JNDI, so you use the JNDI properties for that using the generic Property syntax we have in our schema. Daniel is aware of the desire to make that more portable/automatic and we're also discussing moving to UnboundID as the default provider for ldaptive, since VT runs it that way, and they're our primary support channel for LDAP issues.
