Any number of publically available ECP clients and examples, principally simple shell scripts around curl. Our wiki is full of links to them on the ECP page. [1]

In terms of *just* testing what the browser could test (authentication), curl alone is fine for that. The browser can't "test" ECP, it will just fail after login anyway.
