Idp v3 - xforwardedfor and date

Both the xforwarded-for %X{req.xForwardedFor} and date (%date) are not displayed in process.log or audit.log
This is what I have in logback.xml.
<Pattern>%date{HH:mm:ss.SSS}- %X{req.xForwardedFor} -%msg%n</Pattern>
I also modified web.xml in /var/lib to haveMDCInsertingServletFilter.

Please let me know what I am missing. %date worked fine in v2.
