Shibboleth SP Install Failing on Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter

Before you dismiss the install try looking for the shibd.log that should give a hint as to why shibd isn't starting.

A lack of log would indicate an ACL issue on the installation dir.

I cannot remember the details but at that stage you may even have the install in situ so you could try running shibd from the command prompts to see what it says.

Failing that I don't think that the installation log (msi exe /lv* foo.log) will help you, but procmon (filtering shibd.exe) might.
