JVM heap size adjustments

I want to be certain I have IdP v3.1.2 for Windows ready for large supporting metadata files. The guidance on increasing the heap size for the default Jetty container installed by the Windows IdP 3.1.2 installer appears to be missing as far as I can tell. It seems the best practice is actually to use the shibd_idpw.exe utility rather than manually editing the Jetty config files which is what's discussed here.

Am I correct that memory requirement changes should be made to the JVM using C:\Program Files(x86)\Shibboleth\procrun\shibd_idpw.exe? It seems that in order to support large metadata files, which are expected when the InCommon federation joins the eduGAIN federation, the Maximum memory pool should be increased from the default 512MB to 1024MB using this tool. Can someone confirm?
