Google integration with SP

I've seen a few and emails back and forth for IdPs to integrate with Google, but can we as an SP receive attributes from Google?  The devs here have been working on something separate and I thought I would ask around before it went too far in the case we can actually redirect to Google and treat them as an IdP, obtaining attributes to our SP, based on an institution's successful authentication with Google.
