Your metadata must never be derived blindly from anything the SP generates, so if that's what you're doing, stop that, and then the answer will be (obviously) no, you'll be in control of that. If you're asking me if it did change or could change, the answer to the former is maybe, and the answer to the latter is yes. That is NOT an API contract between me and anybody. That is yet another reason for the comment at the top.

Upgrading the SP doesn't change the metadata describing your system, the SP doesn't intentionally break or change things in a minor release.
Offhand, only a few extensions such as the algorithm support extension are ever likely to be sensitive to a software upgrade.
