Yes, but not the schema, at least not materially. I would have to conclude 
your container or installation is corrupt. Old jars of some sort lying 
around getting in the way.

I just set the property in my own installation of 2.4.4, loaded fine (and 
then misspelled it to trigger an error).

You may also have a stray character in there perhaps that isn't in the 
copy used with 2.4.3 somehow.
