access to DateTool in shib views?

Assuming you're talking about V3....

I have run across that toolbox stuff in the Spring docs, but I haven't 
really figured it all out and it wasn't critical path back then.

I did manage to get the springMessage macros to work, I don't know if 
there's a relationship there.

I don't have a ready answer at the moment. Obviously "yes", but I can't 
say what it involves.
