Shibboleth and PeopleSoft

We managed to CASify Peoplesoft. You should be able make Shib work.

Everything really just depends on REMOTE_USER being set. Once that was done we modified sign on people code (FUNCLIB_LDAP) to look for REMOTE_USER and skip the ldap sign on. It that makes sense.

Since the SP will probably run on Apache in front of the Peoplesoft you’ll need get Apache to work with Weblogic first.

I’d be happy to share our Peoplecode with you. Let me know.

Subject: Shibboleth and PeopleSoft

Today, our organization’s PeopleSoft environments authenticate directly against LDAP.  We have an interest in authenticating users via Shibboleth instead.

We understand that PeopleSoft has no native SAML support, and I’ve reviewed some of the threads here:  http://marc.info/?l=shibboleth-users&w=2&r=1&s=peoplesoft&q=b .  So, I’m aware that some organizations have built a proxy-based solution to deal with the issue.

I’m wondering if any organization on this list has built SAML support into PeopleSoft using PeopleCode or some other method, and could share their experiences with us.
