SAML 2 SSO error on connectiong to TestShip idp

Hi Peter,
   Thanks for your advice,  I was considering just changing the
Shibboleth2.xml back over to the UKFederation setup and just
registering. My colleague tested our working idp against TestShib
yesterday and said he got an error as well. What do you think?

At least https://sp.colegsirgar.ac.uk/shibboleth is part of the
"Current entity list", http://testshib.org/entities.html (to be found
via http://testshib.org/about.html) which also matches what your SP
thinks is its name, as per
https://sp.colegsirgar.ac.uk/Shibboleth.sso/Metadata

At some point I had noted down this URL for entities registered with
testhib: https://www.testshib.org/metadata/testshib-two-metadata.xml
but it seems that's obsolete now (but still exists and has 4375
entities in it; while teshib lists 438 on the current entity list).

So I agree with your analysis (testhib both claims to know your SP and
to not know your SP) but can't offer any further insight.
Have you considered testing with your local IDP (the UKfederation
lists https://idp.colegsirgar.ac.uk/shibboleth)?
