Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus with Shibboleth IdP SAH256

Well, to generalize your question a bit more... Office 365 Pro Plus license
activation requires active authentication which is only supported by ADFS,
not SAML/Shibb. Microsoft has said they are working on parity for SAML by
supporting passive authentication through ADAL... and though this is
formally listed on their roadmap <http://roadmap.office.com/en-us>as
"rolling out" (and has been for months)... my understanding is that claim
is misleading... that while they may be staging some client software
components, that only tenants in the "preview program" are actually able to
get the necessary bits flipped on their tenant to effectively use of the
new passive authentication pieces. I actually haven't found anyone thats
said they have it working or have seen it working in a non-preview tenant
like the "rolling out" status would imply.
So SHA1 or SHA256, doesn't matter, there is seems to be shibb support for
Pro Plus software activation at the moment.
