I can add something, I simply had no idea the issue existed.

Note that if you manipulate the keystore in any way other than the tool provided, you're not guaranteed a working system. That's because of the separate version file, made necessary by the lack of keystore attributes pre-Java 8. So having a custom alias really doesn't buy you anything as it happens.
