I don't think 4096 is enough, that's probably confirmation. I didn't think
larger keys still crashed, it's true, but I wasn't ruling it out. I do
know they don't work once you hit 8K or so, there's a bug in the libraries
that I have to figure out a patch for at some point without breaking
everything.
