Configuring SP to work with Symantec O3

We have a client that is using Symantec O3 Gateway product for their SAML 2.
Has anyone ever configured  SP 2.5.3 to work with a non-Shibboleth iDP,
particularly the Symantec O3 product? 

 

I gather from the documentation that I have to build a metadata file from
scratch following the instructions in MetadataForIdP.  The example shows  a
metadata file for a Shibboleth iDP.
