Hi Courtney, 

Wiki is the best place for docs by far. Some are rather technical but basics are there as well.

Now a bit of a pointer while you get started.  I don’t think you mentioned this was your specific setup but I’ll throw it out there as you begin.  We don’t recommend running the IdP and SP on the same box. It gets rather confusing when you are just beginning to grasp how all of this fits together.  If you need to test one side of the exchange first then you can use the www.testshib.org service to begin with for either side of the exchange.

When you get stuck - do ask on list there are many here to help with your issue.
