Shibboleth IIS install questions

I'm installing Shibboleth on a Windows Server 2012 (not R2) server.

1.) Does it pose much of a configuration and/or maintenance challenge to
install Shibboleth to: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\shibboleth rather than the
default location C:\opt (which seems really odd to me)? I see it prompts
you to choose an install path when you run the software.

2.) Can Shibboleth peacefully co-exist on a server that hosts multiple
other websites as well?
