Hmm, perhaps your definition of "special" differs from mine ;). So far it looks like servicenow requires a special relying-party definition disabling attribute encryption, a special attribute encoding your ID attribute of choice as a name-id, and a special exclusion of the default transientId. If you somehow managed to get it to work without any of those kludges I would most certainly be interested :).
