At least http://aws.amazon.com/amazon-linux-ami/2014.03-release-notes/
indicates that "Amazon Linux" uses a different glibc, a different gcc,
a different httpd, etc. compared to the lates CentOS version (6.5 at
this time). As such rebuilding the SRPMs is likely required for a
working stack.
