Seems the misunderstanding is solely on my part. I had another package downloaded from Forgerock OpenIDM in the same parent folder and I apparently walked into the wrong directory.

I must be tired.

Sorry for the confusion.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here.

I'm not using any container at all. I have no other java processes running.

The zip file mentioned does not contain a war file at all. The Wiki seems to be describing something else than the packaged IDP available from the Shibboleth webpage.

There is no install.sh file in the unzipped directory root.

I downloaded the package from here: http://shibboleth.net/downloads/identity-provider/latest/

It looks like it is using Apache Felix OSGI. The error retains to org.glassfish.javax.transaction and not the Glassfish container specifically. Since Glassfish is the RI for JEE6 it doesn't necessarily have to be related to using the Glassifish Servlet Container.

Where am I supposed to download the IDP from? I'm just trying to get it up and running to test out SAML 2 a bit.

/Magnus

It appears you are using Glassfish as the app container? Have you followed all of the necessary steps in the wiki for that container? I don't actually recall if Glassfish is specifically documented. If not, then you will need to read the other app container steps and extrapolate to your container.

To me, that error message appears to happen before Shibboleth is actually loaded.
