Shibboleth and Google Search Appliance

Has anyone any experience of, or better instructions for, configuring 
Shibboleth to provide authentication services to a Google Search 
Appliance?

>From the information I've been able to gather, Google seem to expect 
somewhat different SAML behaviour to what normally happens between a 
Shibboleth SP and IdP. Possibly something similar to what they expect when 
using Shibboleth to authenticate to Google Apps? I'm sure it can be done, 
but I'm struggling to work out what and how...
