That's quite the effort, he said understatedly
Is the blog link "stable" enough to link to from our documentation in some
way? Or is it better to turn the blog post into actual wiki material?
I don't know how stable the Azure assumptions you had to make are, so that
might impact whether to try and make it stable docs.
BTW, there is a totally untested means of trying to parametrize the XML
config files, namely XML entities. The code blocks use of an external DTD
subset, but it's possible to use an internal subset to define entity
replacements at the top of a file. That may make creating the
substitutable content easier to plug in by just scripting the generation
of that DTD and appending a customized XML file to that.
