Shib-enabling 25-Live ...

Hi,

We're wondering if any other site has had success with this effort. 
We've found some information about this process:

but, that doc just confuses me. This doc seems to have 1) a front end 
application that users login to, 2) a backend server exporting a set of 
WS interfaces and used by the front end, and 3) a DB holding the data.

That doc seems to describe wrapping Shib around the WS interfaces; I 
would have expected to wrap Shib around the frontend application.

Has anyone already been down this road ?
