This is not so much targeted at the original poster, but for the archive.

In theory a custom build might work, but I don't know that it will. At
minimum, it will not work without installing a custom version of boost.
The RH4 boost version is too old and the SP won't build against it. I have
not tried, since that would defeat the point of my dropping support for it.
