Check the logs for the ERROR condition which caused Shibboleth to abort the start. From the sounds of it, make sure you turn on DEBUG level for the ldap logging.

Subject: shibidp 2.3.8 setup error idp/status

Hello,
shibidp 2.3.8 setup on a fresh Windows Server 2008R2 machine domain controller looks ending well, but if I try to open https://localhost/idp/status I get the error 404 “The requested resource () is not available.”

If I remove the string
useStartTLS="true"
from within attribute-resolver.xml / <resolver:DataConnector id="myLDAP", it works.

What is the other way to make it work, keeping the line above?
I tried setting port=”636” in login.config, but it doesn’t solve the problem.

Thanks

Mauro
