testing idp w/ testshib

Thanks to all the replies. Very helpful.

After a bit of debugging, finally it looks like my idp metadata.xml is 
the problem. When 'check with local sp with shibd -check command,
it point me to

ERROR OpenSAML.MetadataProvider.XML : metadata intance faile
d manual validation checking: Scope must have TextContent.
CRIT Shibboleth.Application : error initializing MetadataPro
vider: Metadata instance failed manual validation checking.  
=============================================

While 'believe with my original x.509 certs info and my idp url 
'can work with another idp metadata; Can some one point me to such (simple
template)

Also 'am surprised to get into this error, except for changing url of my
domain/host
pretty much 'used the std install

If any other trouble shooting methods apply, appreciate some pointers.
