You can certainly ask. It's obviously going to be a while, 2.5 work is
wrapped.

If you want to ask for something, it would be best if you can describe the
use case either in the RFE or on the dev list in some detail. I get a lot
of requests that leave a lot of questions as to what really would solve
somebody's problem.
